On a historic site that was once the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, SO/ Auckland now houses rooftop bar HISO, fifteen-storey restaurant Harbour Society, an executive club with a private terrace, an on-site café Javalab, lobby bar MIXO, SO/ Spa, SO/ Gallery and The Vault conference and event space in what once was the bank’s sweeping vault area—alongside 130 rooms.

THE VAULT | Meet in what was New Zealand’s largest gold reserve
A grand, modular and historic space with all the frills of modern luxury.
Made up of four meeting spaces, which connect or separate to create modular spaces, The Vault provides endless possibilities to events and meetings of all sizes.
The Vault is SO/ Auckland’s main event space, in what once was the Gold Bullion Reserve of New Zealand. Featuring marble, bronze, gold and mirrored features, it is the perfect background for events of all kinds. It is infused with modern, state-of-the-art technology to host memorable events in the heart of Auckland’s CBD.
An atrium wraps around two sides of The Vault’s floor. Use it a break-out space, where tea and coffee, nibbles to full meals and drinks can be served on benches and leaning tables. Coat-checks, registrations, auction tables, and product displays will also find a home in this area.
The Vault has a 2.9m tall ceiling and is capable of seating up to 110 people for a banquet.
For smaller events, it can be separated into four separate function rooms, but equally charming. See below for details:
Magnificent and bold. This is a marvellous space with the option to combine 24 Carat and The Reserve for private use. Best suited for large meetings, glamorous dinners and events.
Exclusive and exquisite. Designed for hosting group training, corporate meetings or bespoke dinners. This space has its own designated break out area.
Stunning and private. Designed for hosting larger group training sessions, corporate meetings, networking events and intimate dinners. This space connects to a shared breakout area.
An emboldened space. Designed for hosting full day meetings, innovative breakout sessions and well-crafted plated dinners.
The Social Club Terrace Auckland Venue
On the third floor of SO/ Auckland, this private haven is the perfect playground to mix & mingle amongst the sights and sounds of the city. Look out to stunning historic buildings in Auckland’s downtown, and over the bustle of Customs Street.
The (200 sqm) space is available for private hire. Perfect for corporate functions, convivial private events, cocktail parties, award ceremonies, and product launches.
Both exclusive and welcoming, The Social Club Terrace is the most unique outdoor deck in Auckland’s downtown with a fresh urban view.
A private bar, nestled in the buildings’ facade can serve a range of drinks, nibbles and cocktails. Plenty of moveable outdoor couches and high tables and seating provide spaces to gather and talk.
Please note that this a semi-outdoor space, with suitable shelter from the elements. A retractable overhead canopy provides protection from the rain, however this is only partial and two sides of the terrace are open air. And due to the location events must finish by 10pm.

HI-SO Rooftop Bar

HI-SO Rooftop Bar is a versatile events space on the 16th floor of SO/ Auckland hotel.
An open-air terrace, wrap-around space and windows facing the city, Waitemata Harbour, Rangitoto Island, The Harbour Bridge make it the most versatile space to catch a view of the city—day or night.
HI-SO is available to host all kinds of events. Product launches, birthday parties, Christmas parties, long lunches and everything in between. HISO works for all kinds of event sizes and occasions, from morning until late night.
All-inclusive packages and simple venue-only hire rates are available.

SO/ Gallery
SO/ Gallery is a space that hosts convivial gatherings of all stratas—from casual to cocktail.
A blank canvas— only adorned, with colour through our artist-in-residence work, Rachel Rush. More than a background, SO/ Gallery is a spacious, calm yet invigorating environment for events that invite connection and creativity.
We offer complimentary access to: high tables, high stools, bar leaners, food stations tables.
Events of 25pax and below incur a hireage fee of $1k. Events with a F&B spend of $2.5k receive free venue hire. Food and beverage packages are priced per head, with canapes starting from $5.
Customised food and beverage packages are available. AV can be organised at a fee to compliment the event and space
